- Expression of Interest are invited for VRE Integration Study The objective of the assignment is to support the Namibia team of the World Bank to assess the VRE deployment potential in Namibia by delivering (i) a clear timeline for solar and wind deployment based on optimized scenarios; (ii) list of investments needed in grid upgrades for VRE integration and uptake; and (iii) optimal locations for future VRE power plants. In preparing Tasks 1 - 3 evaluate and provide adequate proposals to address: (i) challenges for secure system operation under increasing uncertainty and complexity; (ii) the need to manage distributed solar PV under normal and extreme conditions; (iii) frequency control; and (iv) maintaining system strength (as it affects voltage control and stability).
