Description:
Africa faces a housingdeficit estimated at over 80 million units. The annual supply of housing units,however, is far short of the immense demand. Many African countries and citiescontinue to experience rising rates of urbanization with infrastructure developmentnot keeping at pace and therefore exacerbating the challenge of inadequatehousing. This makes housing a key priority for the World Bank Group (WBG) inAfrica. Namibia is one of the World Bank Group-s joint representation countriesin Africa. The WBG implementation team is looking to hire an experienced firmto conduct thorough market research and analysis of the housing sector valuechain in Namibia encompassing supply, demand, housing finance, marketchallenges, and opportunities with a goal of unlocking the country-s housingsector potential. The deep dive assessment is expected to cover the regulatoryand institutional framework for housing and housing finance; the housing marketdemand and supply; the finance demand and availability as well as the propertymanagement and maintenance and provide key recommendations.
