Description:
The CUVKUN project aims to improve water resources management in the transboundary Kunene and Cuvelai basins shared by Angola and Namibia. The project focuses on developing an operational Water Resources Model (WRM) that is open-source, semi-distributed, and basin-wide. It will simulate seasonal water balance, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, pan/lake storage, and hydrological drought indices, while also representing flood routing and indicative inundation mapping. The project includes strengthening transboundary water resources management, governance, community participation, and outreach for climate resilience.
